About the Builder
Tim Kennedy, has been a custom home builder and licensed general contractor for thirty years. With Tim's specialty in fine woodworking and cabinetry, his houses speak for themselves in their attention to detail and use of the finest materials. As a hands-on builder and designer, Tim along with his crew, performs every craft required in the construction of custom homes from foundation to cabinetmaking. Tim's company Blind Moses Woodworking works both in new construction and renovation, and averages one project a year. This newly completed house at 737 Grand Avenue in Astoria is the most recent example.
Tim began his career as a builder in 1977 in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he established his business Blind Moses Woodworking. During the next thirteen years he worked on a wide range of projects: new house construction, renovation of existing structures, and various aspects of fine woodworking including extensive cabinetry work.
From 1990 until 2006, Tim lived in Portland, Oregon where his construction and renovation projects included both new and older homes, usually in collaboration with various architects. During this time he also worked on out-of-town projects in a variety of locations in Oregon, including Mosier, Manzanita, Lincoln City, Mt. Hood, and Seattle, Washington. Tim's successful relationships with a variety of architects and structural engineers strengthened his abilities to produce beautiful houses that will stand the test of time.
Tim moved to Astoria, Oregon in 2006. His first project was a home for himself and his family. The house on Grand Avenue is his second major project in this area.
